Cell publishes findings of unusual significance in any area of experimental biology, including but not limited to cell biology, molecular biology, neuroscience, immunology, virology and microbiology, cancer, human genetics, systems biology, signaling, and disease mechanisms and therapeutics. More Integration of electrophysiology with single-cell transcriptomics defines the molecular signature of human dermal sleeping nociceptors and reveals oncostatin M as a selective modulator of these neurons in humans, providing a therapeutic entry point for neuropathic pain. About Cell Press Science that inspires We publish research across all areas of science, to advance discovery, drive innovation, and solve our greatest challenges.

Understanding the Context

Optovolution leverages optogenetics and the yeast cell cycle to impose rapid, tunable selection, enabling the continuous evolution of light-responsive regulators, logic gates, and other complex protein behaviors that were previously difficult to evolve. We developed a plain text modeling language—a cell behavior hypothesis grammar—to easily build virtual cell models and connect them to data, helping scientists to unlock the hidden dynamics of tissues. We provide examples showing how to use them in virtual experiments exploring how cancer responds to the cells in its environment and how the brain forms layers in development. Cell publishes findings of unusual significance in any area of experimental biology, including but not limited to cell biology, molecular biology, neuroscience, immunology, virology and microbiology, cancer, human genetics, systems biology, signaling, and disease mechanisms and therapeutics.
